Healthy Recipes For Busy Work At Home Moms

Anyone who has been reading this blog for any length of time knows that I’m always on the search for healthy recipes that can be made quickly and easily for a family on the go. My oldest has two different sports going on any one time, my youngest is just about to turn a corner in their violin lessons, and my husband is entirely inept at cooking anything that doesn’t come in a Kraft container. There’s never a dull moment in my house, and I’m sure the same is true for most of my readers out there!

The challenge, then, is finding the right kinds of recipes online that balance healthfulness with convenience, speed, and quantity. Usually, you get at most two of these features, and search engine results are something of a mixed bag when it comes to genuine quality.

This is why I typically try to use a few recipes from one provider at a time, testing to see if the taste is good and the process is actually speedy and relatively low-effort. If the recipes turn out consistently good and the process isn’t too lengthy or difficult, then I’ve determined that that source is trustworthy and I can start trying out their other recipes. If not, which is unfortunately most of the time, then I move on to the next one and repeat the process all over again.

It’s an unfortunate fact of life that most recipes and recipe sites are just awful and not worth the time spent reading them. I can’t count the number of times my kids have given me whithering looks after yet another kitchen nightmare has been produced following a recipe for a healthy mac & cheese alternative, or that my husband has stopped mid-chew to glance at me inquisitively as if wondering if I were trying to poison him.

That’s why it excites me so much when I find a quality source for not only recipes but cooking classes on how to properly prepare them. If I’m being totally honest, it’s enough to make my week if I find one, as we can just easily have the next month’s meals planned out ahead of time with very little fuss.

This is where I tell you about my newest and most exciting discovery: Shayna Taylor’s kitchen. The social media star-turned-cooking instructor has created a website filled to the brim with delicious and healthy recipes for entrees, appetizers and desserts that are very doable for a busy family.

Best of all, she shows you what ingredients to look out for when shopping and how to prepare the meals in her online video series on health-centered cooking techniques.
